back to the sixtiesPosted: March 7, 2013
From the National Archives of Australia there’s a photograph and a story about the immigrants to Poatina – a village in Tasmania that was the home of migrant workers on a large hydro-electric project in the 1960s.
Today the village is open for accommodation in various forms. The Chalet, now run by the Golden Chain group as a motel, boasts this amazing 60s retro space with picture window bush views. Minus my trusty camera that I left at the airport for an unplanned holiday, these pics are courtesy of my iPhone. Check out the anodised lamps and the wonderful colour palette in the room.
